We collect information you provide when you contact us, claim a listing, submit a business, or sign up for advertising. This typically includes your name, email address, business name, business address, and phone number. We do not require an account to browse the site.
We collect minimal analytics on page visits (URLs viewed, browser type, referring source, approximate location from IP). We do not use cross-site tracking pixels or sell visitor data. We do not run ads served by third-party ad networks.
Business listing data
Public business information — name, address, phone, website, hours, photos, Google ratings, customer reviews — is sourced from publicly available data including the Google Places API. When you claim a listing, you can update or remove this information. To request removal, see our opt-out page.
How we use information
- Respond to your inquiries and process claims, submissions, and removal requests
- Send service-related emails (claim confirmations, billing receipts for advertisers)
- Improve site features and performance based on aggregated, anonymized usage data
- Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or abuse
We do not sell your personal information.

Third-party services
We use Vercel for hosting, Supabase for database, Resend for transactional email, and the Google Places API for business data. Each of these has their own privacy practices governed by their respective policies.

You can request a copy of personal data we hold about you, request corrections, or request deletion by emailing privacy@longislandpetguide.com. We respond within 30 days.
Children
LIPG is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we'll change the "updated" date at the top. Material changes will be announced via a banner on the site for 14 days.
