Overview
Spot was launched in 2019 by Robin Williams Pet Insurance Agency, underwritten by Crum & Forster (same as Embrace and ASPCA). Spot's hook is highly customizable plans with very low deductibles available ($100) and a wider range of annual caps. Their preventive add-on bundles wellness into the same policy.
Plan-wise, Spot covers everything you'd expect from a mid-market plan: hereditary, congenital, dental illness, behavioral, alternative therapies. Reimbursement up to 90%. Annual maxes from $2,500 to unlimited.
Spot is a newer brand without the long-term customer satisfaction data of Healthy Paws or Trupanion. The underwriter is solid, the plan is competitive. Pick this one if you've shopped Embrace and ASPCA and the Spot pricing comes in lower for your specific pet.
Owners who want Embrace-quality plans with a slightly different brand and pricing structure.
